A Lind & Lore story

Babou’s Kingdom

An adventure of courage, movement, imagination, friendship, and hope.

The book

One child. An unfamiliar road. A future still imagined.

Babou’s Kingdom is an adventure for young readers that explores what happens when a child is forced to leave everything familiar behind and move through uncertainty in search of safety.

Told with emotional sensitivity and imagination, the story invites readers to connect with themes of war, migration, identity, friendship, resilience, and hope.

It is designed first as a compelling story, while also opening a door to deeper conversations about the human experiences behind headlines.

Behind the story

Why I wrote Babou’s Kingdom

Babou’s Kingdom grew from a desire to help children engage with difficult realities through story.

War, migration, displacement, and belonging can be enormous subjects. Through the imagination and emotional world of one child, the story creates a gentler route into those conversations—without losing sight of their seriousness.

At its heart, the book is about resilience, compassion, and the capacity to keep imagining a future even when everything familiar has changed.
